In a private detective’s office, somewhere in the middle of a rainy New York City, a shiny red phone rings. The detective, a stunning woman with a floppy quiff and a sharp pair of sunglasses, puts her cigarette out and answers the phone – “Detective Scott speaking.” Who’s on the other line? It’s Ten Towers, calling to ask where she got her glasses from. A little fantasy never hurt anybody, right? This is the kind of Friday behaviour you can expect from us here at Ten. The “Detective” Scott in this case is Cuba Tornado Scott, a model with a Hollywood pedigree (the Scott comes from her grandfather Ridley), playing the lead role in the new Alain Mikli campaign for AW18 with Luka Isaac starring as the male protagonist.
Embodying the rebellious spirit of 1970s and 1980s, and inspired by the party photography of Antonio Lopez, this campaign brings all the elements of Alain Mikli we know and love. Both metaphorically and literally. Marking the comeback of the brand’s signature Pose! frame, the futuristic 1980s shape which effortlessly translates into a contemporary pair of sunglasses. We’re off to re-watch Basic Instinct and practice our leg-crossing technique. A pair of new Mikli’s will look perfect with that turtle-neck white dress…
