A Deeper Dive Into Saul Nash’s Lululemon Link-Up

In an unexpected, but truly brilliant move, Saul Nash has collaborated with Canadian performancewear giant Lululemon. Unveiling the debut iteration of the multi-season collaboration during London Fashion Week with an bumping party on the week’s opening night, Nash showcased an array of dynamic, movement-focused pieces, seamlessly blending his signature sportswear aesthetic with Lululemon’s technical expertise. “This is something that happened organically,” he says in an interview with 10. “I was really excited by our shared interest in movement and felt that there was great room for exploration with Lululemon as a company.”

Calling the collection SLNSH, it includes transformable pieces (which Nash says he is most excited about) for both men and women, like modular track pants and layered windbreakers with detachable elements. There are also “…bags which can be worn as crossbody bags, in reference to Lululemon’s signature everyday belt bag, and running jackets that when sleeves are removed serve as cool overshirts,” Nash muses. The team-up also proposes a fresh take on Lululemon’s classic Define silhouette. Under Nash’s lens, Define utilises the “ultra soft everlux fabric for comfort” while also “contrasting this with powermesh to add an element of sensuality.” Additional pieces include seamless compression tops and accessories like multi-functional headbands and gloves. An all-round offering made with movement or, more specifically metamorphosis, in mind – as per everything both brands do – ensures that performance meets style without compromise.

“The SLNSH collection is really a space for exploration and discovering new things and this is really exciting,” says Nash, adding that it’s a “marriage of true performance and also looking at how the garments transcend beyond this…. Within this collection it was important to not only represent the codes of the Saul Nash brand but also define a new language for the world of SLNSH which seamlessly blends the stylistic codes of Lululemon with my own. The Yogo cutting has become a signature for this collection.”

When asked what he’s got in the bank for the near future of SLNSH, Nash keeps his lips tightly sealed. All we know is that the debut offering launches March 11. After that, we’ll simply have to patiently wait and see what’s next; but whatever it is, it’s sure to have us floored – or better yet, on the floor, stretching, lifting and dancing the day away.
