Fendi: Cruise 2027

For her first cruise collection at Fendi, Maria Grazia Chiuri turns toward the process of making – refining a wardrobe rooted in Italian craftsmanship, material experimentation and the evolving rituals of dress. It’s all in the pursuit of not only clarifying but bolstering the concepts that should define Chiuri’s Fendi wardrobe.

Presented as a moody manifesto of modern bourgeoisie, backdropped by black and emerald marble interiors, cruise 2027 explores interchangeable tailoring, tactile contrasts and pieces designed to move fluidly between man and woman. Think parchment that meets studded leather in the reactivated Baguette bag, voluminous trenches that redefine outerwear and silver lace that catches the light across skirts and maxi dresses. In some places, boxy shirts seemingly blend into their accompanying trousers in silver painted denim, waxy leather and black canvas.

At the centre, Chiuri’s vision is one of coexistence and collective identity, marked by the image of the tree of life. Here, it becomes a sort of declaration, a “utopian trace that recalls nature, humanity, reason…”, making for a wardrobe shaped not by ego, but by possibility. It’s a lot less I, and a lot more us – after all, that’s Chiuri’s new motto. Discover the collection here.
