Footwear Finds: Kiko Kostadinov x Crocs

These Crocs are made for walking, and that’s just what they’ll do – except not like any Crocs you’ve ever seen before. The cult functional clogs brand has teamed up with London-based designer Kiko Kostadinov to deliver a footwear model that first made eyes (and feet) turn at Kostadinov’s AW26 menswear show during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in January.

Show stopping footwear collabs are no news for Kostadinov – just think of the worldwide success of its Asics drops – but this debut just marked a whole new milestone for the CSM alum. Tapping into Crocs’ heritage of everyday functionality, Kostadinov has crafted a sculptural silhouette that perfectly blends industrial architectural inspirations and utilitarian design. The result is a chunky, sneaker-like sole that rises into a mesh grained leather upper echoing traditional boot designs, but with a touch of Crocs-core breathability.

The design was realised in a muted earthy palette that perfectly complimented Kostadinov’s AW26 collection, an ode to the “primary language of construction and material” that translated into structured one-colour looks reinventing the notion of utilitarian uniform. It was comfortable, structured and undeniably drippy – just like the shoes they came with.

The Crocs x Kiko Kostadinov capsule will step off the runway and into global availability later this year, with additional details yet to come. Watch this space.
