Escape To The Slopes In Gucci Après Ski

Dreaming of a white Christmas? So is Gucci with its new Après-Ski collection. Sourcing inspiration from the easygoing allure of winter getaways, the Italian house’s vision of a travel-minded lifestyle comes to life as a luscious fantasy of a winter holiday. The retro-tinged campaign film, directed by Akinola Davies Jr, envisions an alpine escape with the Gucci gang letting their hair down and unclasping their skis, unwinding against a scenic backdrop of snow-capped peaks and charming chalets.

Clad in coordinated snow sets, cable knit cardigans and cool, cosy jumpers, often embellished with the GG monogram or optical patterns, the range is rife with sporty aesthetics. The iridescent ski masks, for one thing, are like reflective, polarised, sweptback sport sunnies designed for the slopes – if you’re into the big, bug-eyed frames that took over 2022, then these are for you.

There’s a whole slew of snow-ready accessories on the mountain top too, including GG mittens, fluffy hats, quilted, wool or silk scarves, ball caps, headbands and a selection of season-less jewellery. The lug-soled cold-weather footwear re-illustrates classic hiking and snow boot silhouettes, in a wool material with a distinctive fleece texture, GG Matelassé leather, or with an all-over maxi monogram motif. Not to mention the set of aluminium hard-sided trolleys that appear clutched in gloved hands, created in collaboration with the Italian luxury luggage maker FPM Milano they’re part of a continuation of the house’s Gucci Valigeria travel narrative.

We’re especially excited about the new Adidas x Gucci garms teased in the puffer jackets, jumpers, dresses and more– marrying fashun and function at its best. Updated iterations of signature Gucci handbags crop up too, including the Gucci Horsebit 1955, the Gucci Diana, the GG Matelassé leather duffle and the GG Marmont, presented in either houndstooth knit, trimmed with wool, or completely covered with a raised-all-over Adidas x Gucci emblems.

With its Aprés Ski offering this season, Gucci says it all – bring on the snow, baby.
