This season’s Emporio Armani men’s show began with the shoes. Dubbed The Wave, these molded rubber concoctions derived their off-kilter proportions from the texture of a weaved basket. Much like the collection itself, they proved Mr Armani as no one trick pony; a maestro of classicism and refinement, angled more so now at a youthful customer.
Amongst the 93 looks were jacquard blazers and black-tie tuxedos, which walked alongside easy-going, pinstripe tunic tops, wide-leg trousers slashed open at the thigh and hoodies laden with painterly brush strokes in signature Armani blues. A section EA7 sportswear – double zip track jackets, mesh vests, navy track shorts – made way for hedonistic shades of lime green and pistachio across carefree summer tailoring, ideal for open air parties and sunkissed cocktail hours at the beach.
A broad tapestry of ideas firmly woven with the storied house’s DNA, the Emporio Armani summer wardrobe is equipped for all sorts of late night adventures.
