Jake Treddenick started his namesake label in 2021, and his AW22 collection shows a new route for the recent RCA graduate. His clothes have a timeless elegance with a sustainable approach – an evergreen combination that never fails.
His MA graduate collection was all about grandeur, packed with disruptive tulle gowns and mesh turtlenecks. Now, the young designer is taking a more refined approach, recalling on his early memories of his mother and aunt teaching him how to sew.
A passion for traditional craftsmanship shines through this collection, with immaculate pattern cutting proving the focal point. Elegant items, such as tuxedo pants or a dark-denim jacket, got a subtle gender-bending treatment – black, off-shoulder jumpers rests on model’s shoulders, and shirts are sewn from glistening, delicate fabrics.
With the entire collection built upon made-to-order model and created from deadstock material in his East London studio, Treddenick is already showing real promise.
