Covered in a slew of fully idiosyncratic British references, Adam Jones‘ SS22 show pays tribute to his childhood nostalgia and celebrates the UK’s past history with textiles. With this collection, the young designer continues to unravel the aesthetic of his label whilst discovering himself along the way.
The runway show took place deep within London’s Silver Building and brought together an intimate gathering of close friends and fashion fanatics to observe Jones’s marvelous creations. The showcase saw the young designer upcycle fabrics taken from places that reflect everything that is Britain. From beer towels taken straight from the pub and used to craft grandad vests, jumpers and skirts to vintage football scarves made into cropped jumpers in memory of how the lads lift their tops up to celebrate a goal, this collection came jam-packed full of memories, nostalgia and so much more. Showcasing one of his favourite design techniques, Adam Jones took strands of ribbon in a variety of bright hues to create game shorts, tops and silk shirts that aim reflect your teams strip.
DIY jumpers created from deadstock alpine knits found at car boot sales were paired with skimpy football shorts whilst lace curtains found at charity shops have been converted into vest trousers and shorts. Adam Jones’ undoubtedly eccentric SS22 collection is a combination of contrasting camp and countryside aesthetics all merged into one.
