Raf Simons: Ready-To-Wear SS22

It’s an excting time to be a Raf Simons fan. Not only is the designer carving his signature into the Prada universe, designing the brand’s mens- and womenswear alongside Mrs. P herself, but he is expanding his namesake label, too. For the past two seasons, the designer has introduced womenswear to his Raf Simons collections, a long-awaited arrival for a brand which has designed only menswear since 1995. His return to the Paris Fashion Week schedule on Thursday was the first time the fashion pack got to see his co-ed vision in the flesh, and it came with all the teenage angst that has cemented Simons as a cult fashion hero through the last two decades.

It’s important to point out that Simons’ new wardrobe is shared. He expressed that through XXL shirts grappled by tiny skeleton hands on the sleeves; smocks with raw hemlines; and blazers stamped with the sort of graphics you’d expect to see across a vintage tour tee. Amongst these were a series of Raf signatures, which included swolen jumpers and rebellious nods to school uniforms, worn by all models as they stomped under the grand colonnade of the Palais Brongniart with a sense of urgency in their step and a grit in their teeth.
