Since founding their label in 2015, Rodarte’s Laura and Kate Mulleavy have become a natural source to be reckoned with. In a homage to nature and a new spiritual awakening, the brands SS22 collection came jam-packed full of neutral flowy fabrics covered in prints of nature’s gifts. Cutout dresses and elegant blazers were covered with floral drawings, walking beside party-ready fringed dresses. The collection was littered with see-through lace dresses featuring floral detailing, which came accented with black and brown leather ankle boots.
Continuing on with its environmentally-friendly inspiration, the label presented pastel-coloured satin bubble dresses covered in prints of the world’s most unique mushrooms grown across the world. Barefoot models strolled in ankle-length dresses with swooping sleeves, paired with slim gold-chained necklaces, paying tribute to the everyday beauty of the earth that surrounds us.
Why the natural fungi-inspiration you might ask? The design duo’s mother is an artist and their father is a fungi botanist, paying tribute to them from start to finish. Rodarte’s SS22 collection was covered in playful hues, relaxed fabrics and natural radiance that gave a calm and serene experience to all watching. Emerge yourself in the wonders of the outside world, by way of the Rodarte sisters.
