Another show in a box? Jonathan Anderson does know how to treat the fashion pack! After revealing JW Anderson’s latest collections through an A4-sized box packed full of keepsakes, the creative director has now unveiled Loewe’s spring/summer 2021 menswear and pre-collections through another innovative cardboard creation. This time around, the box in question arrived as a sort of index filing system, packed with loads of Loewe goodies that could keep any office security occupied for hours. Inside was a letter from Mr Anderson, which came with a written list of inspirations for the season. Next up, a flick book packed with looks that come in impressive volumes. This season Anderson thought big, working with a chorus of playful shapes and structures to navigate a cohesive and inventive edit. Woven bodices, eye-catching knits, rollnecks with billowing leather sleeves – these are clothes that speak directly to the extrovert not through a shout, but a calm, Loewe whisper.
Also included inside the box is a pattern for a smock – look 23 to be exact – for you to create from home (how handy is that?) Other things that might tickle your fancy include a set of SS21 shoe postcards, a pop-up book that shows what this season’s set would’ve looked like and a portable record player and vinyl, featuring the voice of Dr. James Fox – a renowned art historian who walks though a trip to the Loewe factory. Please hold on sending us any emails, we’ll be OOO and inside the Loewe show-in-a-box…
