Step Inside Burberry’s Castleford Factory Where The Brand Is Supporting The Battle Against Covid-19

Back in March, Burberry announced they were to completely retool their trench coat factory in Castleford, Yorkshire to produce masks and non-surgical gowns for medical units across the country. Now for the first time, Burberry has shared imagery that documents such efforts in combatting the virus. Manufacturing capacity inside Castleford was scaled up in order to produce the non-surgical gowns, each in a signature Burberry beige. The brand has donated more than 150,000 pieces of personal protective equipment to the NHS and healthcare charities such as Marie Curie, and this number continues to grow.

Burberry has also pumped money into crucial vaccine development, providing funding to the vital research currently underway at the University of Oxford who are working towards a single-dose vaccine. Burberry has also provided significant donations to crucial food charities such as The Trussell Trust and The Felix Project. Burberry’s contribution to the latter has funded nearly half a million meals for those in need.
