British Fashion Council Announce A New Category for this Year’s Fashion Awards – The Designers’ Designer Award

The Fashion Awards 2019 countdown is very much ON, with the ceremony taking place in just under two weeks, on Monday December 2nd. In the rundown to the event, the British Fashion Council have just announced a new award. Designers’ Designer Award was imagined to highlight British designer businesses that have, over the past year, made a world-wide impact through campaigns, collabs and product design. The nominees are as follows:

Christopher Kane for Christopher Kane
Jonathan Anderson for JW Anderson
Margaret Howell for Margaret Howell
Roksanda Ilinčić for Roksanda
Simone Rocha for Simone Rocha

The award will also coincide with the launch of the BFC Membership Programme, which was announced earlier this week. Established to encourage inclusivity and collaboration, the scheme invites designs to come together to support each other. Currently, the community stands at 80 founding members, made up of British designers all at different stages of their careers. The winner of the Designers’ Designer Award will be announced as part of the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall, after being selected by the discerning members of the Programme via peer-to-peer voting. Good luck to all the nominees and keep doing what you do so well.
