Without a doubt, Nicholas Ghèsquiere has the best gang of girls fronting his campaigns. There’s Voguing queen Angel and badass Sansa Stark, a tap-dancing Cruella de Vil, the current Bond girl and Lara Croft. If it came to a Zombie apocalypse, Ghésquiere would probably be the safest man in the universe. But while we wait for a female-led Louis Vuitton ensemble action flick, there are plenty of visuals the brand is coming out with, all starring these powerful characters with their best model faces on.
Out today is Vuitton’s new leather goods campaign, starring Léa Seydoux and Alicia Vikander in front of a duck egg blue background (or is it the Californian Sun?) with some enviable luggage in hand. Shot by Craig McDean and styled by Marie-Amélie Sauvé, the actresses clutch onto LV’s New Classics. The trapezoid Capucines now comes in intricate quilting borrowing shapes from the brand’s signature print, while the classic messenger shape of Dauphine gets a little playful with the introduction of contrasting monograms. We are almost sure they’ve got some pretty lethal gadgets hiding in there, along with their work phone with just one phone number saved on it. Is it too late to remake Charlie’s Angels, with Ghèsquiere in the title role and all the LV girls as the Angels?
