Giorgio Armani is Being Honoured For His Outstanding Achievement at the 2019 Fashion Awards

There’s no one quite like Mr. Giorgio Armani. The king of Italian fashion has spent decades at the top, with his eponymous label making women feel strong, confident and truly themselves for 44 years now. He is one of few fashion entrepreneurs still completely involved with all aspects of his business, overseeing every subsidiary within the Armani Group. And now, the British Fashion Council is honouring him with the Outstanding Achievement Award at this year’s Fashion Awards. Throughout his triumphant career, Mr. Armani has designed costumes for over 200 films, created the uniforms for the Italian Olympic and Paralympic teams since 2012 and has emblazoned red carpets on both sides of the Atlantic with his pristine haute couture gowns. Though the award isn’t just for his outstanding contribution to the fashion industry. The achievement also takes into consideration Mr. Armani’s humanitarian work, with the designer working alongside both UNICEF and Green Cross throughout his career. “We are thrilled to be honouring Giorgio Armani,” says Caroline Rush CBE, Chief Executive at the BFC. “With more than four decades in the business, Mr Armani’s contribution to the fashion industry is indeed outstanding.”
