Sometimes you just have to skip on hosting a show or a presentation in place of a party with all your mates on the top floor of a Mac store. After five (very) long days of London Fashion Week, that’s exactly what Mimi Wade did. Instead of spending a lot of money on the set design, models and all the production that comes with a big show, Wade brought a few suitcases of her new collection, asked her friends to wear it and then showered everyone in pink champagne. However tired you were, it was impossible to avoid the contagious energy the characters on display emulated, dressed in the slinky, sexier version of old Hollywood glam. Mimi Wade’s dresses definitely carry as much of a character of Hitchcock’s blondes as they do the free spirit of the hot chicks that tend to die first in classic slasher flicks. But don’t you dare underestimate this girl. Just because she loves to show off her body, wears baby pink and her favourite animal is a butterfly (because Mariah), it doesn’t mean she’s not way more badass than you. She knows all the references behind her looks, reads 1980s books and has the kind of tenacity that will make you stand back. If Jean Harlow was in her 20s and had an Instagram profile… Well, she’d be Mimi Wade. Or at least prancing in her SS20 presentation along with Nadia Lee Cohen,
