While most designers keep their cards close to their chest ahead of shows, Jonathan Anderson loves to take a different route. Instead of veiling his collections with mystery, Anderson builds the excitement around his shows by slowly revealing pieces of the puzzle (get it?). For SS20, he’s already leaked his it-shoe at his namesake brand via Instagram – a landscape-printed house slippers in wool with penny-loafer details. To say we’re drooling would be an understatement. As for his work at Loewe, we already anticipate a preview of his collections comes via a campaign of posters. Three images, photographed by Steven Meisel and giving us a little taste of the vibe we’re going to be feeling the coming season.
Following the footsteps of Josh O’Connor, the star of Stranger Things Charlie Heaton is the face of the SS20 campaign – dramatically staring at himself just before (or after?) he goes on stage. We all know that moment of facing the harsh truth of ourselves before we embark on a performance – life, love, work or anything else. What about the clothes? An ankle-length white tank top and the cotton poplin shorts are accessorised with smeared red lipstick. We approve. In addition to Heaton’s drama, the staple Puzzle bag is painted by multi-coloured stripes, updating this wardrobe classic yet again. If we weren’t excited by Paris Fashion Week already, we definitely are now.
