ALEXACHUNG: Ready-To-Wear AW19

For her second season on the London Fashion Week catwalk, Alexa Chung went west. You know – the wild, wild west. But don’t expect cowboy hats and chaps. Her vision of classic American style dates back to 1983, Chung’s birth year. Titled Off the Grid, the collection riffs on classic symbols of West Coast dressing, now revisited for the benefit of all Alexa Chung superfans. Prairie dresses and chunky, Bowie-esque platform boots with anklets worn over them (a styling trick worth remembering). Tuxedo suiting worn with knits. Updated variations of slinky slip dresses. Contemporary ready-to-wear at its finest, it was one hit served after the other – this collection was basically every 20-something’s fantasy shopping list come to life. For the first time at Alexachung, that list also included sunglasses, once again retro-inspired and created in collaboration with Sunglass Hut. And now that she’s got a full suitcase of goodies, where is this girl heading too? On a roadtrip with her gal pals. Leather-clad and armed with endless amounts of aloof, these girls are the gang we want to be a part of. Boot-anklet included.
