We are on the final stretch of NYFW and Michael Kors is still, the king of glamour. This is a show that brings out the heavy weights in celebrities – front row was like the Oscar red carpet people! Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Korea’s Im Yoon-ah to every major editors and influencers in town. The show at Cipriani downtown was turned into a disco complete with so much glitter and disco mood. Casting wise – how can you compete with Gigi, Bella, Karen Elson, Liu wen, Binx and to top them all off, the legendary Patti Hanson! It was already the most fun and show.
Michaels Kors gave us romance, glamour of the 70s in NYC, Studio 54 when dressing up was essential, a sparkly dress should sparkle to the max and be sexy as hell, dinners should be a moment to be celebrated because it would most probably be at Russian Tea Room. Michael Kors is not reinventing the wheel here but each look reinforces that message that Michael Kors is a designer for all of NYC. From the uptown ladies to the downtown kids, there is coat, a pair of sunglasses, a dress, a bag, and shoes for us all – if we want the glamour! But hold.. just when you thought it could not get any better, the finale was to Barry Manilow Copa Cabana and boom, the man, the legend and his tan was up on stage giving us his real rendition. What a brilliant and fun way to start the last day of NYFW.
