Antonio Berardi: Pre-Fall 2019

1968. The year designer Antonio Berardi was born. Also, the year Sharon Tate was on the top of her game, and Edie Sedgwick was the party girl of the moment. Embodying the sexual freedom of these iconic American figures of 1960s is Swedish artist and photographer @arvidabystrom who took 21 self-portraits in Berardi’s Pre-Fall 2019 collection, styled by our Editrix Sophia Neophitou. In a play of feminine and masculine, once again reflecting the way Sedgwick and Tate wore their own clothes, the clothes get a totally new life, one that blends reality and fantasy. This notion is now as relevant as it was then, serving as empowering and liberating in this new wave of feminism we’re all currently riding. As she models the immaculately tailored yet playful Berardi’s designs, Arvida becomes the icon of tomorrow. She’s sexy, she’s confident, and she isn’t afraid of letting the world see it. Viva Arvida, viva Berardi!
