Since launching at the beginning of October Collusion has gone from success to success. Their latest collab, which dropped yesterday exclusively on ASOS, is a ten piece capsule collection created with artist and activist Rene Matić. As one of the six founding young collaborative consultants, through countless discussions Matić has spent the last year shaping the label with her five fellow creatives.
“I have made work every day for as long as I can remember,” says Matić. “Each one is a moment of becoming, an experience of the world, a book I have read, a song, a person, a burden, a navigation, a medication – a way of looking after oneself.” A introspective and therapeutic process, Matić’s work highlights and questions structures of power within society and specifically the art world. Often, also drawing upon and traversing the intersections of Matić’s experience as a queer, femme of colour. For the collection the artworks explore the notions of diaspora, belonging and solidarity, appearing juxtaposed as graphic prints on pieces including co-ords, sweatshirts, dungarees and parkas. If the other Collusion collections are anything to go by you better act fast before it’s gone.
Rene Matić x Collusion is available elusively on ASOS.
