It’s a hole in one, y’all! American king of avant-garde tailoring has just revealed a limited-edition Thom Browne Golf Collection – his surrealist take on a long heritage of argyle, tartans and two-toned clown-esque shoes. Cropped suits and cardigans with matching flat caps and socks – it’s a total look reminiscent of 1960s American golfing uniforms, but also a reference to Browne’s personal design aesthetics. Has he been designing the most fashionable golf looks since 2001? Does this mean we can wear our Thom Browne brogues to the course? We’d like to think so. As a sequel to the 2017 Tennis collection, this one establishes the brand’s connection with sports and uniforms, with pin flag emblems integrated into cardigans, shirts and leather goods coming in some classic golf (some-would-say gaudy) colourways. Perhaps you want to wear a pair of statement-heel pumps the next time you fly the green. Up to you.
And to match the surrealist storyline in the clothes, a set of images shot by Micaiah Carter invites you to enjoy the kooky world of Thom Browne. Starring models Adesuwa, Sang Woo Kim and Walker Bunting with appearances by our drag fave Milk and Ten contrib Simon Rasmussen (and many more), the plot thickens when it comes to this eclectic golfing family. To be completely honest – we never really stepped on the course, but after seeing this collection – we just might have to contact our estranged, golf-loving uncle to give us a lesson or two. In a full look of Thom Browne, of course. Tiger who?
The Thom Browne Golf Collection is available exclusively at Thom Browne stores worldwide as well as online.
