Why is the Miu Miu girl one of our favourite characters in fashion? Firstly, she’s got great taste in music (for SS19 she’s looping Prince’s beautifully melancholic acoustic version of Purple Rain). Then there’s her tendency to blur the line between night and day. In Miss Miu Miu’s head, there’s never a wrong time to cover yourself in diamanté fringing or lavish jet beads. She also loves to mix butch and femme, thinking nothing of wearing a man’s blazer and boyish polo top with skirts made from veils of sheer chiffon or sparkling sequins. She’s not a fabric snob – she wears flapper style slips made from Parachute nylon; and we love what she does with denim: fashioning it into swishing dirndls, swagged party dresses or mini skirts festooned with extravagant rosettes.
What else? Miu Miu girl lives life atop towering satin platforms and didn’t brush her hair this morning. What’s not to love…
