“Dream! Dream! Dream!” urged Massimo Giorgetti via Instagram ahead of his today’s show for MSGM. And so we dreamt, about a land far, far away where flowers are in bloom all-year round and the sun shines brighter. As soon as the first look of MSGM SS19 walked down the Milan catwalk, we knew it: Massimo makes dreams come true. In more than one way. At time poetic, at others just straight-up shoppable, his latest offering under MSGM continued the dialogue from previous seasons. Youthful silhouettes, pop-y colours and a whole dictionary of desirable fashion. It was all there, for us to indulge in.
Like the best in the business, this collection had something we knew and loved, as well as elements completely new and unexpected. On this occasion, those were the classic 1980s tie-dye prints. One piece in particular, a knitted sweater-dress with mismatched tie-dye panels, captured the MSGM futuristic nostalgia to the T. A little bit of old, a little bit of new, and a lot of bit of fabulous. Need it ASAP. And then there was the sweetest of ends. A dream sequence of three striped, ostrich-feather mini dresses made us wish we had a cocktail affair to attend tonight. This is the collection to shop – piece after piece, these were clothes that could fit into anyone’s wardrobe anywhere. We just hope one of them is ours…
