And it’s pretty iconique. The world of fashion and tennis collide as Serena Williams gets a full new outfit courtesy of the Virgil Abloh and Nike. The American tennis player is one of those figures that have already established themselves as a fashion icon, both on and off the court. The hot pink tennis dress? The stunning caped wedding dress? Her pregnant Met Gala gown? All stunning lewks, one after the other. But for this year’s American Grand Slam, Serena is taking it to a whole new, high-fashion level. Taking inspiration from her love for ballet as well as the beyond-human strength she plays with, Virgil created a custom tennis kit which walks the thin (white vinyl) line between hard and soft. Matching glitter socks and shoes worn with a multi-tiered skirt and an asymmetric top – this is the kind of sportswear we need in order to even consider hitting a ball. “What I love about tennis is the gracefulness.
