Dinner is served, courtesy of Karl Lagerfeld. We’ve always wanted to dine with Mr Lagerfeld and now we have the chance. Like a six degrees of separation sort of chance. When one has succeeded in fashion and beauty, what does one do? Well if you’re Karl Lagerfeld you create a cutlery set. Obviously. Collaborating with French label of fine silver flatware Christofle, Lagerfeld has created a set that will be available in two egg-shaped capsules that are apparently inspired by the art deco movement – think egg cups, egg chairs Casa Padrino style. The designs will be signed, numbered and available for preorder during NYFW at The Webster, the Christofle store and the Karl Lagerfeld store in SoHo. To keep up with fashion month, the sets will they go on preorder at Harrods in London and then on sale at the Christofle store on Rue Saint-Honoré during PFW before a worldwide launch on October 1st. Working around the fashion industry is trés important. If we were to dine like Karl Lagerfeld, as we plan to do once we get our hands on the set, we would be eating steamed apples for breakfast accompanied with 2 protein shakes. That’s how he does it. Lunch is irrelevant to him and dinner is vegetables and lean protein. And of course everything will taste so much better with Karl cutlery.
