The latest face to join forces with the British Fashion Council is a familiar and perfectly sculpted one. David Beckham, he who formerly kicked a ball about, is putting all that boyish charm to better use by partnering with the BFC to boost support for the British fashion industry worldwide. Sophia is absolutely thrilled by the appointment – can’t possibly think why… As Ambassadorial President, David will be tasked with strengthening the profile of emerging British fashion talent by forging new networks and partnerships across the US and Asia. Because who could say no to that face?
As well as his ventures abroad, David’s work will focus on supporting the BFC across their all important Education pillar, helping to nurture young talent from across the country through BFC run Saturday Clubs, scholarships and apprenticeships. Together with Lady Beckham, the two have become one of the most influential fashion power couples in the land. Speaking on his appointment, David shared the following words, “taking on this new role is an incredibly proud moment for me. I have long been passionate about British style, fashion and craftsmanship and this role gives me the chance to get under the skin of an industry I love.” Under it, over it, inside it, we’re very much looking forward to your involvement.
