In celebration of her first major solo exhibition, Quack Quack, at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, British artist Rose Wylie is the latest to get the Chaos treatment, AKA an assortment of impossibly chic phone cases courtesy of Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall’s pop-luxe accessory expertise. Because, when it comes to sheathing one’s phone there’s simply no one better, and this limited edition collection of cases are adorned with three of Rose’s most iconic works, specially selected by her own fair hand. For those not familiar with the name, fret not, Rose only received her first major break in her 70s but has since gone from strength to strength, with New York dealer David Zwirner having recently announced that he will now be representing the octogenarian artist.
Launching today, with all proceeds from the collaboration going to the artist, the exhibition and the Serpentine Galleries, the selected works all draw from Rose’s war time childhood memories growing up in Kensington. Sounds bleak? Not in the slightest – Rose’s style is vibrant, free and full of energy, Basquiat-esque even, and the perfect splash of colour to introduce into your life via the phone you can’t seem to put down. Now though, you needn’t worry about ignoring the people in your company while you’re busy ‘grammin, because at least they’ll have something nice to look at.
