WWD have just broken the news that Phoebe Philo is to leave the house that she made great. After a year of rumours, she is set to exit Céline, with her Fall 2018 collection, shown next March, to be her last. “Working with Céline has been an exceptional experience for me these last 10 years,” she said in a statement. “I am grateful to have worked with an incredibly talented and committed team and I would like to thank everyone along the way who has been part of the collaborations and conversations… it’s been amazing.” Obviously all the usual questions remain – who will take over the house? Where will Phoebe go next? But, more pressingly – where will we spend all our ill-gotten money now? Who will dress us like the woman we want to be? It’s all a bit much. We will truly miss Phoebe’s work at the house – she has defined an entire generation of women, and we only hope that she has already planned her next move. Don’t be gone too long! *Falls down on knees and prays*
