Haider Ackermann marches to the beat of a different drum, as Linda Ronstadt may have once sung. His world is full of beautiful women doing beautiful things *really*. Not a moodboard pretence: his customers need clothes that take them from jzushy lunch to some evening affair that’s exclusively “black tie”; to cocktails with the boss and charity events galore.
This means tailored trouser suits and longline coats cut to exquisite perfection, and dresses – lots and lots of dresses. For Spring, this means fabric fastened and twisted and tied to make interesting and sexy knots around the neck, some had slits and apertures revealing a glance at the body underneath. The same thing appeared on one navy jacket’s shoulder head, slit at the side where it joined the sleeve to reveal a sexy glance at the shoulder. Ackermann is a masterful cutter.
