The corporate behemoth that is Amazon is building up some serious steam as it prepares for its foray into the world of fashion – as evidenced by news of an upcoming unisex capsule collection with Nicopanda, the brand of super stylist and Diesel Artistic Director Nicola Formichetti. Scheduled to be available for purchase immediately after the spring 2018 show, the six piece streetwear collection is made up of a bomber jacket, leggings, a long-sleeve tee and a clutch bag, all in a palette of navy, red and pink.
Nicola will be staging next months show at Amazon’s very own multi-million pound fashion HQ, the recently purchased European Fashion Photography Studio in Hoxton. We’re well excited for our first peek. Speaking on the upcoming collaboration, Formichetti praised Amazon’s “fast delivery and selection”, as well as noting that, “true to Nicopanda’s DNA, the collection is unisex with an international street-culture aesthetic…each piece includes signature Nicopanda graphic motifs and a bold colour palette”. Susan Saideman, vice president of Amazon Fashion Europe knows she’s onto a winner with Nicopanda, noting that “Nicopanda’s designs immediately tun heads, so we can see why it is a firm favourite with the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga”. And if it’s good enough for them it’s certainly good enough for us.
