Holland & Holland Release New SS17 Campaign

I’ve never killed a grouse, I’ve never worn anything tweed, and the only gun that I’ve ever shot is my friend’s air-rifle. I am a city boy through and through, and unsurprisingly then, not what you might consider to be the typical Holland & Holland customer. Under the visionary excellence of duo Stella Tennant and Isabella Cawdor, creative directors of the luxe countryside outfitters, this actually doesn’t matter, as proved by their just-released SS17 campaign. Because, despite not having the faintest idea of what a ‘Grouse Butt Maker’ is, or what it might actually be used for (minds out the gutter, please), I can see myself being kept nice and snug in one of those thick checkered shirts and a pair of oval toed canvas hi-tops. That’s not to say the new collection has compromised any of H&H’s country heritage – pony skin walking shoes and Lovat tweeds offer a more traditional reflection of the brand’s roots, but they are interspersed with more luxurious fashions that could blend seamlessly into a more urban setting. This season’s campaign is the second to come from the Tennant/Cawdor partnership, who travelled to Cordoba in Argentina to shoot the new campaign. As well as crafting beautiful images, the new collection was put through its paces according to Tennant, who said of the trip: “We stayed on a working estancia and began shooting the imagery, rising at 4:30am to capture the sunrise and starting up again before sunset. During the day we were out riding, reading and swimming”.
