We will begin with the staircase for the very fact that when a staircase is entirely upholstered in purple faux fur, it probably bears mentioning. A bit like a purple muppet, though a quick post-show Google actually revealed there are very few purple muppets, apart from an obscure Japanese Sesame Street character called Teena. Either way, we will be, on return to the homeland, journeying to the nearest Hobbycraft, purchasing several yards of faux fur and a staple gun. Well, if Miuccia says so. There were clothes too, of course – very lovely clothes that continued fur-based theme – glorious shawl collared coats, some entirely furry, other becoming transparent macs beneath the collar, puffy stoles, huge furry gloves – all in this rainbow, Care Bear colour palette of soft pastels or sharper greens, reds and purples. Soundtrack was De la Soul and there was certainly what we’ll call a hip-hop “tinge” to this – these hefty varsity jackets, here in soft pastels, furry baker boy hats or these crystal numbers that sat on the chests of tops, a bit like those you might find on a basketball jersey. You know that bright yellow De La Soul album cover with the hand-drawn flowers on it? Well, the collection kind of riffed on that 90s-meets-60s psychedelia – mostly through the prints – cats, telephones, a sort of surfer-y reworking of the Miu Miu logo. Collection finished, like all good things should, with sequins – specifically, ultra-glam mini-dresses trimmed at the edges with crystals. Miuccia, you know us too well.
