More more more. Just how we like it. We’re greedy bitches, you see. Plenty for us piggies to devour at Marco de Vincenzo’s AW17 show yesterday, because this was a collection all about maximalism – pile it high, sell it… well, not so cheap. Not cheap at all, in fact, because this is expensive Milanese fashions, made from those fabrics that Marco is so good at – fantasy fabrics, here brought together in a riot of colour, texture and… tinsel. There were lurex sweaters, of course (they’ve become a bit of a signature) but also faux fur coats printed with pyramids and palm trees, clashing plaids, ruffles, amazing brocades. And the form of the clothes themselves? Well, imagine a cross between cowgirl, Little House on the Prairie and 1920s flapper. Somewhere around there. Loved.
