It’s no secret that Victoria Beckham has been slowly moving away from the polite, figure-hugging feminine skirts and dresses that dominated her early collections. A fact I can attest to, having attended her AW17 Victoria, Victoria Beckham presentation at the Ritz yesterday. By accident. I was dropping off a package for Sophia and stumbling into a room full of people dressed far more glamorously than I. But I did get a sneeky peek at what was hanging on the rails. Oversized trousers and sleeves, mandarin collars and slouchy tops, the sort of clothes you wouldn’t mind being cocooned in as you fall asleep, perhaps on a sofa. It was mostly monochrome, VB is very good at that, but there was one exception – a striking orange pleated dress with playful outer pockets. This should come as no surprise, though, since she was said to have been inspired by the foggy grey tones of London’s skies, something we are all too familiar with here at Ten. A very lovely collection.
