We could pretend to know all about the artists mentioned on Delpozo’s press release, but we don’t. Maybe we should. Maybe we’re uncultured heathens. For those of you who might, the two main names that cropped up were Hungarian painter József Rippl-Rónai and Swiss architect and sculptor Max Bill. Both of them, and this was from a brief Google in the car so might well be incorrect, were wild on colour. And this was colourful. A zingy palette of blues, reds, yellows and pinks – their shades heightened by the bright white space thar the collection was show in. Silhouette was almost egg-y, as in oval-shaped, recalling Cristobel Balenciaga’s famed cut, or, when it came to the dresses, fitted at the waist, flared at the hem and dripping with abstract embellishment. All added up to something a bit Space Age. Like a nice piece of Atom furniture. Or The Jetsons. Ruh-roh.
