What’s your strength? Is it, like the Michael Kors lady, a sensual strength? Well, that’s what the press release told us anyway. And our eyes, too, when the parade of supers began stomping past us. Because this season, the girl was sexy. Not in like an overt, fleshy sort of way, but in a cinematic, femme fatale kind of a way. Leather gloves and fur, gowns that split along the hemline. Kimono-style dresses that wrapped around the model’s bodies. Outerwear that cinched, at the waist, mac-like and accessorised with peacock-feather style fur stoles. Natasha Poly in a shimmering gold number. All that stuff. Let’s call it sexy de luxe. Because what else do you expect from the reigning monarch of American glam? And all set to the sounds of a string orchestra that began with the Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams and ended with Lady Gaga’s Million Reasons. Which, call it the early morning start, or call it day six of seven, made us a bit emotional. We’re off to find a dark corner to have a little cry in.
