Ma-jor campaign alert: Raf’s dropped a new ‘un. Just in time for his much anticipated AW17 menswear show in NYC tomorrow. Which lord knows we’ve heard plenty about, specifically the invite, which just about every man and his dog who works in fashion have posted on their Instagram. Not that we’re not jealous or anything. Not jealous at all that we’re chained to our desks whilst Sophia, Garth et al sample the latest delights to emerge from Mr Simons’ mind ahead of his first Calvin show on the 10th February. So instead we will make do with the SS17 campaign. And when we say make do, we are actually very happy to be left in the presence of pretty young men flashing a bit of flesh in vaguely BDSM get-ups – leather hats, aprons, dog collar-type things etc. Because cast your minds back to Pitti Uomo – this collection was inspired by, and featured, the work of Robert Mapplethorpe – very good photographer and king of the male nude. Might print these out life size and slowly caress them. Nothing weird about that is there?
