You’re always told that you should never meet your heroes. Inevitably you will end up disappointed and resentful that you ever looked up to them in the first place. A friend of mine was a huge Catherine Tate fan until she served her in M&S and she turned out to be a total bitch. It’s not all bad though, George Michael (God rest his soul) was so in love with Aretha he wrote ‘I Knew You Were Waiting’ so he could duet with her. And it worked! They aren’t the only ones. Look here at Acne Studios Pre-Fall 2017. Jonny Johansson was just doing his thing, making glorious garms when he realised he had designed a look for Bobby Gillespie. Fast forward to now, and who else is the star of the campaign than Mr Gillespie himself. Might I add how fetching he looks in the designs. The man knows how to pull of a look. So don’t listen to naysayers, unless it refers to Catherine Tate, run free, find your heroes. They could be everything you’re searching for, and more. It worked for Jonny, why can’t it work for you?
