Alexander McQueen enlists Jamie Hawkesworth for SS17 Campaign

It’s cold, it’s wet, it’s Monday. And if that wasn’t enough, it’s Blue Monday too. For those not in the know Blue Monday is apparently the most depressing day of the year. I’m sure there is some science behind it, but I’m no scientist. What I do know is that a little sunshine always makes things better. So what better way to fake it until you make it with the new Alexander McQueen SS17 campaign. Shot in much, much warmer desert landscape by Jamie Hawkesworth. Now I know there will be some naysayers out there who remember the inspiration behind the collection – the Scottish Highlands – so why a desert. It makes total sense though, these are clothes for all climes. Think about it. It’s a bit BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, but instead of music it’s clothes. You’re going to be stranded on a desert island and can only pick 8 designers to wear. For sure you’d pick Alexander McQueen, without a doubt. For now, we will just have to live vicariously through Vittoria Ceretti wandering aimlessly in the sand, and try our best to banish those Monday blues.
