Mr Armani has spoken and he’s said colour. For Pre-Fall 2017 anyway. Because here there is but the merest hint of that signature Giorgio greige, the reigning monarch of Italian fashion instead stumping for bright hues of red, green and blue, or a combination of all three. Which is, quite handily, helping us to prize open our tired eyes this morning. Like a shot of adrenaline straight to the eyeball. The collection itself is saying to us elegant daytime attire. And with risk of souqnding a bit like Grazia, we’re going to further say that this is clothing not just for daytime, but for day-to-night dressing – think smart tailoring (so far, so Armani) meets more casual mohair jumpers and tracksuit bottoms in satin, whilst outerwear is long in length and double breasted. And very popular amongst wholesalers, Mr Armani apparently said. To finish there’s a smattering here too of more glitzy party dresses – not quite Oscars, but enough to ensure that you will, in London anyway, be the most glamourous woman in the room.
