Dior Debut Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Very First Campaign

This is not, as you might think, some sort of CGI-trickery. These are real life twins. Model twins. Model twins in the form of English beauties, Ruth and May Bell. A gene pool so good that we wonder if, perhaps, they were grown in some sort of model-producing tank. Anyway, they are the stars of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s very first campaign since taking the helm at Dior. And, in keeping with the fact she is the first ever woman designer to helm the French house, she chose also chose a woman to shoot the campaign, the mega-talented photographer Brigitte Lacombe. “I really wanted to have a woman photographer,” Chiuri said to WWD. “I’m really interested in different interpretations of femininity, and she really captures the expression of different attitudes. I wanted to start a dialogue with a new generation of women, which is the Millennial youth.” Not sure if any of us here in Ten Towers still count as youth, but, then again, we’ve never been ones to grow old gracefully. We’ll take it all.
