“I don’t care. I am who I am, take me as I am,” Johanna Senyk told us backstage at Wanda Nylon. You tell ’em. Woman in fabric. That was the motto for Spring Summer 2017. “I always play with fabric, I always play with researching, I play with attitude. It’s what’s around me,” she said after the show. And there was attitude. In the clothes and the girls. This was the club scene of Paris. ‘Francesca’s Art Dump Dream’ by Chicks On Speed played loud. Our point exactly. We imagine this is what an all girl electro-pop group was wearing in the 80s… Silver boots, oversized sunglasses, vinyl, and chains hanging from hats, bags, everywhere. Metallic mesh sparkled and waterproof plastic reflected every colour of the room, the Wanda Nylon world lit up, on fire. This is the second part of the history of Wanda Nylon. She’s still feeling the rain, just maybe a lighter downpour. So what’s the Wanda Nylon girl getting up to tonight? “Whatever she’s doing, she won’t be waking up early tomorrow.” We like her attitude.
