There’s always a sense of permanent vacation to a Margaret Howell collection, if that makes sense. The clothes are relaxed, the models move so languidly, it’s just very peaceful and serene. This time she presented what we will describe as a grown up Bardot vision of summer. The sort of thing you’d wear in a small summer town. Think striped shirting cut into shirt dresses and shirts, pulled back off the shoulder and worn with cuffs rolled up. They were paired with wide, cropped and cuffed trousers and pleated circle skirts, worn loosely round the waist adding to the languid feel of the whole. Lovely.
