Lacoste is taking us places. Villa Malaparte in Capri to be exact. Let us set the scene. Think: a game of tennis on a rooftop. It’s hot, everybody’s hot. Lots of greenery, too. We can almost hear the smack of a tennis ball hitting the racket. And so, Felipe Oliveira Baptista set the scene for Lacoste’s SS17 show. Here we sat, maybe not on a rooftop, but on the highest level of Spring Studios surrounded by pine forests and rocks. Fresh. If there was ever a time that Lacoste would take charge, it’s now. We’re having a sportswear moment. Terrycloth robes to begin. Bit like we were in a spa. Rejuvenating. Tracksuits. Fleece, mesh, raincoats. A subtle 70s undertone. And would it be a Lacoste show without the crocodile, which snuck it’s way onto new tropical prints. Almost enough to make a girl take up tennis.
