We’ve come to rely on Hedi’s Saint Laurent campaigns for our regular dosage of inspiring females for which to live our lives like. If you were to put them back to back and into some sort of binding you could alternatively publish as a book entitled, “Women Who Ten Towers Would Quite Like To Be”. Or, “Women Who Should Possibly Consider Restraining Orders Against Us”. Joni. Marianne. Sky. Courtney. And now, two more – Cara Delevingne and Jane Birkin, both of whom are known for their elfin faces, acting prowess and expensive leather goods that bear their name. And unequivocal fabulousness, obv.
Now, FYI, it’s not Cara’s first time modelling for the house of Saint Laurent, so let’s call it a comeback, or perhaps a “brief head pop around the door” into the world of modelling. She was photographed in New York by Hedi as the face of their “La Collection De Paris”, whilst Jane was photographed across the pond Yves Saint Laurent Couture House in Paris for “Le Smoking” line. There’s something about a woman in a suit, isn’t there? V Diana Keaton at the Oscars circa the mid noughties. Cara’s doing the whole no bra and tux 80s power bitch look, whilst Jane is a little more modest and unruffled, with more than a soupçon of that Parisienne je ne sais quoi. Just gorge, gorge!
