We all want to be cool, right? That’s the choice world Jonathan Anderson used to describe his winter Loewe collection. Cool for cats – like the pendants hung around models’ necks, resemble the porcelain good luck charm waving breed in many a Soho eatery. Pussy galore. And they were lucky for Anderson too: this proved his most compelling and downright gorgeous show for Loewe yet, full of swirling pleated skirts and oversized ruched and crumpled shirts, models balancing on high heels with hammered metal jewellery dangling from neck and ears. It had a sort of early nineties power to it – a bit earth-tone earth mother, a little corporate high-flying working girl swapping shoulder pads for sexy clinging knits and soft layers. Sexy, sophisticated and – yes – very cool.
