Rochas: Ready-to-wear SS17

As you might know, we fashion folk are often found out and about cloaked in various shades of black. A ‘pop of colour’ usually comes in the form of navy. “I don’t do colour!” Phoebe often wails when presented with the horrifying notion of a black garment with a grey, white, or dark brown detail. However, after a somewhat monochrome Paris offering, the Rochas show came as a very welcome shock to our systems. Colour, in its most vivid, glorious form, saturated our eyes as girls began to emerge in near primary yellows and blues, shot through with bold accents of purple and orange. Models towered in thick wedged mules with a luminous satin finish. Eyes lit up. When colour is done well, you see, we like it very much indeed. A break came in the middle, with an array of more subtle-hued looks – delicate chiffon and silk pieces in various shades of rosy beige and rusty pink. Alessandro knows we like to be broken in gently. The collection was bright and airy. Fresh as a daisy. Fashion has been given a refreshing Spring Summer clean courtesy of Mr. Dell’Acqua. By the time Paris hits, it’s not unusual for editors to have dipped slightly, and this has cheered us right back up.
