We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again. Skaters are cool. Even after Avril Lavigne almost ruined it for everybody. In fact, I spent much of my youth wishing I was dexterous enough be able to wield one – unfortunately I lack both the balance and physical skill to contemplate it as a form of transport. If I did have the necessary attributes, however, I would certainly do it on an Emilio Pucci skateboard – they’ve just designed their first ever, made in collaboration with students of Art and Design at Switzerland’s University ECAL. Or I’d just hold it to look cool. I’m always open to a new accessory. The skateboards themselves are as bold and vivid as you would expect from the Italian house – in their words, inspired by youth and decorated with “irreverent patterns brimming with motifs of Italian culture.” There are two different shapes available – the modern Street shape or the old school Cruiser. So roll around London’s streets, or just hang it on your wall. A four-wheeled work of art.
