It all feels rather All That Jazz doesn’t it? As in the film, not the song from Chicago. Not literally All That Jazz, after all there were no sequin bowlers, or a Jessica Lange type lady shrouded in diaphanous white, but more jazzy in terms of the sequins. And the fact that the show was staged in a theatre. And boy did it sparkle. And when it didn’t sparkle it shimmered. Matt satins cut into elegant tuxedo pants and flirty skirts are teamed with elegant balloon sleeved blouses, jersey was ruffled or pinched around the body Grecian style, silks were fashioned into chic little cocktail dresses, the overall effect of the cut and materials creating the effect of a shimmering ripple on the surface of the water, like when you skim a pebble on a lake.
